Some Notes About QIF Compatibility
The QIF specification describes many different aspects of financial activity, some of which are not yet supported in Liquid Ledger. The following list offers a brief overview of QIF compatibility in the current release.
- Liquid Ledger can import cash, banking, and credit card accounts from a QIF file, including split transactions, account transfers, cheque numbers, and most other transaction attributes.
- Foreign currency accounts exported from Quicken for Windows or Microsoft Money may not import properly due to limitations in the QIF specification.
- Some entities are not yet supported, such as security prices, budget amounts, and memorized transactions. These are currently ignored if specified in a QIF file.
Yes. Liquid Ledger is designed for international use, so if the US dollar is not your home currency, you can change it to British pounds, Japanese yen, or any other currency.
Although Liquid Ledger is optimised for personal financial accounting, you can easily use Liquid Ledger to track the financial activty of a small business. Tasks like keeping a detailed history of cash and banking activity and analysing monthly income and spending are easily accomplished with Liquid Ledger. If you require more advanced accounting modules such as invoicing, inventory, or payroll, then a personal accounting solution such as Liquid Ledger may not be the best fit for your needs.
Liquid Ledger does not currently support HotSync capabilities with a Palm OS device. However, support for Palm users is being considered for a future release.
